That with safari 15 it really makes usability worse, solely for flamboyant beauty reasons, is downright perverse. Speaking of close buttons, when you open a dozen or so tabs in a window in Safari 15, the “tabs” shrink to only show the favicons. When this occurs, close bins cease appearing on non-frontmost tabs, even on hover. So how will you close these tabs with out first activating them? To close them whereas they’re not frontmost, you need to hold down the Command key whilst you transfer the mouse over them. If I have been preparing a lecture for design students about what Jobs meant, I’d use Safari 14 and 15’s tab designs as examples.
