Samoensis and G. Longemucronatus are extra frequent in wild boars in southeast Asia and Japan (Fernandez-de-Mera et al., 2003, Seguel and Gottdenker, 2017, Van Wyk and Boomker, 2011). The life cycle is direct. Following larval ingestion or percutaneous infection, migration can be intensive and cause myocardial and or pulmonary inflammation earlier than returning to the gastrointestinal tract.
