View of the Boulevard du Temple, a daguerreotype made by Louis Daguerre in 1838, is mostly accepted because the earliest photograph to include folks. It is a view of a busy road, but because the publicity lasted for several minutes the transferring site visitors left no hint. Only the 2 men near the underside left corner, considered one of them apparently having his boots polished by the other, remained in a single place lengthy sufficient to be visible. Earliest recognized surviving heliographic engraving, 1825, printed from a metal plate made by Nicéphore Niépce. The plate was uncovered under an ordinary engraving and copied it by photographic means.
