Several circumstances of S. Suis an infection in hunters in contact with wild boars have occurred (Baums et al., 2007). However, not a lot is thought about the medical and pathological significance of infection in wild boars. A single case of fatal S. Suis serotype 2 infection was reported in a wild boar in Spain. The animal was young and had suppurative bronchopneumonia and meningitis with hemorrhage (Fig. 8.17), which is similar to lesions which would possibly be described in domestic pigs (Risco et al., 2015).
